What is Trichology

Trichology is the para-medical scientific study of the hair, hair loss and associated scalp problems. It's perceived as the “bridge between cosmetology & dermatology”.

Women’s hair loss is becoming more and more prevalent. The numbers show that 50% of all women by middle age have noticeable hair loss. Coping with hair loss is more than a physical issue; it goes deeper. While hair loss is not itself dangerous, women with hair loss tend to be very upset by the changes to their appearance. In addition to being a cosmetologist and wig specialist, Marcia LeVake is a certified “USTI Trichologist” and will help find the root cause of your hair loss.

As a trichologist I help women understand their hair loss, what tools they can use to keep the hair they have or feel more beautiful using hair replacements.

Trichology Consultation

Your consultation will be private and confidential. This one-to-one appointment will take 60 - 90 minutes. We’ll discuss all the factors that could be having an impact on your hair and scalp health. This will help me to understand the cause of your concern. It will include discussion about your lifestyle, hereditary hair loss, hair care regime, health, nutrition and any supplements or medication you are taking and any recent blood test results. Your scalp will be examined with a trichoscope to look
at the hair follicles and hair shafts and photographs will be taken of your scalp and hair for future comparison of changes to the scalp or hair shafts.

 

Pricing for this consultation is $75 and can be applied to a program developed specifically for you should you decide to follow through with it.
